What The Hell Wednesday…

21 Sep

I work from 4 to 8 tonight so I had the day to myself.  I’m taking the day off from running and using this earlier part of the day to work in the yard.  Our yard has been neglected…by me.  Mick works all day so, for the most part, the yard is my job.

ABC showed up at 9:30am to deliver my new range.  Remember, the old one was ruined July 28th by a lightning storm.  I kept my distance from the delivery Joes so I didn’t talk their ears off since I tend to nervously babble in uncomfortable situations.  After signing off that I promised not to stand on my new range (derrrr?!)  the guys set up my new range and were out the door (like appliance ninjas).   My new friends said a lady flipped her range over by standing on the open door.  She must have sued and won like the ding a ling who sued McDonald’s for burning him/herself on hot coffee.

Here’s  the old, broken range.  We built our small, modest home back in 1993 and this is the range I chose.  At the time, I thought it was the coolest thing.  The smooth top ranges were newer at that time.  Little did I know that I’d grow to hate white appliances.  I actually don’t really care for my kitchen.  I wasn’t too upset when the lightning ruined this sad oven/stove.  Trying to be patient because someday, some wonderful day in the future, I’ll be able to have a new kitchen.

Here’s my new Whirlpool.  It has the convection option available.  We’ll have the best frozen pizzas, right?  I don’t want to use my new range because I’m afraid to get it dirty.

Work.  Yep, I did it and I survived it.  And, I think I made a difference in everyone’s lives there. Not really.

I wore a New York & Company one piece.  I love wearing it.  It’s like wearing pajamas.

I also wore a necklace my friend, Chris, made me.  She sells her goodies at Grassroots Beadery  Chris has a lot of belly dancer clothing as well.

Of course, you know I’m wearing my white wrap bracelet from Adrienne Morrow Jewelry.  I barely go out without it.  Check her bracelets out at http://adriennemorrowjewelry.bigcartel.com/  I love the way the silver balls catch the light and I love the detail in the wooden button.  Keep in mind that the wrap can also be a belt, necklace, arm band, or anklet but I love to wear it as a bracelet.

The only thing I dislike about working til 8pm is I don’t have much time with my sons.

Hope that you watched or DVR’d The Middle and Modern Family.   I did.  Just not sure when I’ll watch them since I have a ton of crap already recorded.

I’m hoping to run 9 miles tomorrow.  We’ll see….

Hands Off, Bitch! Those Shoes Is Mine…

30 Aug

Today was a lovely day.  Not really.

Wore a cute little Ruehl 925 skirt and a tunic-ky shirt from Express.

And, of course, I’m wearing my Adrienne Morrow bracelet.  Go get one at http://adriennemorrowjewelry.bigcartel.com/

Came home from work and totally crashed.  I had weird dreams too.  Something about fighting a gay male cousin over our dead grandma’s shoes.  I don’t have a gay cousin.  And my fake grandma had awesome vintage shoes.  Like I said, weird.

Brucee and I took a trip to the grocery store.  Don’t worry, it wasn’t the highlight of my day.  Close though.  I asked him if he wanted me to buy him a bag of baby pumpkins to hand out to his friends on the first day of school.  DECLINE.

I then made him stand still while I held a pepper under his nose.  Miguel.

This is why you wash your produce people.  In a calm voice, he says, “Sometimes you make me really mad, Mom”.  He cracks me up.

My struggling college student sent a picture of her large platter of sushi.  Nice.  Glad to see she’s homesick.

Roo Dog had a soccer game and they totally got the smack down.

Little guy’s practice is near a big college so since I hadn’t run today, I had a brilliant idea to run around campus.  I ran out in front of a car.  URRRRRRRTT!  So embarrassing.  There were tons of people and cars.  Wow, didn’t expect that in collegetown.

I did manage to run 7.42 miles with an 8:05 average mile pace in one hour (exactly).  I don’t normally run 8:05 but I’m using a free app on my phone and it tends to give me speedier times.  Nice but I don’t think it’s accurate.  Sent the Garmin away today and it’ll be forever until I get the replacement.

Starving.  I didn’t make dinner because I’m a poor planner.

I Enjoyed Me Some Happy Hour

22 Aug

Lazy Days… Don’t cha love ’em?  I do.   Blew off work today (not really, it was planned).

To me, that means sleeping in till I wake up naturally.  That could be 7am, 8:30am or even 10:00am.  I woke up at about 8:30am.  I was starving so I jumped up and ate a huge bowl of Autumn Wheat by Kashi.  My eating sabotaged an early run.

That’s fine, I’ll run at 11am.  Wrong again.  Mick called and wanted The Who and I to meet him for lunch at 11:45.  NO run.  Met up for some Asian food which made me feel nauseous.

Wearing a J Crew t-shirt and some Forever 21 shorts (borrowed from my little babe).  I’m still loving my white leather wrap bracelet from Adrienne Morrow Jewelry.

My math showed that I could run about 2pm (2:30 since my lunch wasn’t sitting well).  Well, The Who decided she wanted to run in town.  Dropped off Roo, the soccer supreme, at his practice and ran from there.  One, I wasn’t mentally ready to run and two, bless her little heart, The Who was running with me and I knew my pace would be off.

It worked out fine because the “girl” and I ran for 4.2 miles together and then I finished the rest by myself for a total of 9.33 miles.  My pace was 8:54 a mile.  I ran without music today.  I just love the thump, thump my shoes make as they hit the pavement, NOT.

I know, I look like a boy w/man boobs.

My sons and I mooched in on The Who’s date with her friend, Katie.  We had “happy hour” sushi.  Ever heard of such a thing?  The menu had a lot discounted items til 6pm.  I love sushi but when I eat it, I don’t ever get that “full” feeling.   I didn’t want to make a pig of myself so I pretended like I was full when ALL the food was gone.

After letting The Who and her friend go off to do real fun stuff, the boys and I wandered to Urban Outfitters.  I can go into that store daily if I had to.  Here the boys are playing on the beds.

Roo said there were pins in the pretend bed and he wanted Brucee to see if he could feel them….in his back.

Brucee had practice so I had relaxing plans to sit in my car and watch Nurse Jackie (season 2) for an hour and a half.

Roo thought he was just getting sushi and then we’d go straight home so he penalized me for 15 minutes by nagging the poop out of me before I caved and gave him cash to walk for ice cream.  He’s a jerk so I rewarded him.  Perfect parenting, right?

Roo drove everywhere this afternoon so I needed a big treat.  Ice cream it was.  I was still a little traumatized but it helped.   Keep in mind, I was fine with The Roo’s driving until he took us into a corn field months back.  I’m having a hard time shaking it.

Sucks but I have to go back to work tomorrow.  BACK To tHe GRinD…  Don’t let me fool you, I love my job.  They’re so nice to me.  Plus, it makes me get dressed in the morning.

Love My New Wrap Bracelet…

20 Aug

So excited when I got the mail today.  My bracelet from Adrienne Morrow Jewelry arrived.  So glad I found her site on Twitter (@adriennewraps).  Check out some of the other designs at http://adriennemorrowjewelry.bigcartel.com/

Adrienne sent me this awesome wrap bracelet.  It’s made from white leather and metal balls.  She’ll do custom pieces too.   I’ve wrapped it around my wrist 5 times which is primarily how I’ll wear it.  But,  I can and will wear it as a belt, around my upper arm, as an anklet or even as a necklace.

I’ve worn it all day long.  She said I could wear it running but I’m afraid to sweat on it.  Maybe after I’ve had for a little while I’ll start wearing it while I exercise but it’s too new to me right now.  It’s so easy to wear and so comfortable.

It’s so nicely made.  You can pop the button through one of the two eyelets.  The wooden button is so detailed with the jewelry brand etched in it.

Sleepy day but I did manage to mow the lawn and get bit in the head by a horsefly.  Usually, the swelling spreads to around my eye but thank goodness, it stayed contained to the top corner of my forehead.  Please excuse my freshly washed, wet hair.

Random Picture… My little sista, Merles, sent me a picture of a Pot Shop.  Not sure why she was there being she doesn’t need medical marijuana.  Silly Merles.  But on a serious note, my mom has Multiple Sclerosis and I tell her she should cash in on some diggidy with a medical license but she just giggles.  We (my mom and our family) are very lucky with how my mom copes with MS.  She’s a trooper and she’s a very positive person.  I pray she continues to do well.

After getting rid of some kids, went to dinner with Mick and Roo.

Mick works so hard and was too tired to do anything else so I took Roo to see the movie, “30 Minutes or Less”.  Hello Shelly, it’s rated “R” for a reason.  I was dying.  We’re not prudes but the nudity made it extremely awkward.

It’s late and I’m tired so CHOW!!
